The University of Tennessee’s new chancellor has assumed her duties. Beverley Davenport is the first woman to hold the position at the university. She says that she is ready to tackle the “full plate” of issues awaiting her. The topmost matter that faces Chancellor Davenport is making the campus a safe place for all students by addressing the sexual assault problems that have plagued the school in the past. Other matters of concern include the battle over funding for UT’s Office of Diversity and Pride Center and quickly resolving the search for a new athletic director.
