At a special-called meeting Tuesday night, the Crossville City Council awarded an RFP to Nick’s Italian Ice for the running of the concessions at all city parks. Nick’s will run concessions for Centennial and Garrison Parks and at the Duer Soccer Complex. Last year, the city oversaw the concession operations at the parks. Parks & Recreation Director Tammie French told the council that a committee was gathered to put together the Request for Proposal and two were turned back in. The other company was W6 concessions. Council Member Danny Wyatt stated that the RFP was never presented to the council for their approval and that he wanted to see all RFP’s from now on. The council approved that request also.
