The Wayne County, Kentucky Sheriff’s Department says two citizens saved the life of a motorist involved in a vehicle accident yesterday morning. The crash happened on East Highway 92 when Rodney Russell lost control of his automobile. Russell was able to inform officers something broke on the car resulting in the crash. It left the road, struck a rock embankment and overturned coming to rest upside down on the road. The car then burst into flames trapping Russell inside.

Two witnesses to the crash, Jason McGinnis and Eddie Melton, kicked out a window of the vehicle and pulled Russell to safety before the vehicle was totally engulfed in flames.

Russell was transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital for treatment of injuries.
