RAIN CHANCES GOING UP

///
Comments are Off

Tuesday is looking partly sunny with only an isolated shower possible in the afternoon, high temperatures will be in the 80s and it will be more humid. Showers and thunderstorms become likely on Wednesday and Thursday and some heavy rainfall is possible as we get gulf moisture moving over Tennessee. A chance of showers and storms will continue every day from Friday through the weekend and into early next week, as a matter of fact above-normal precipitation is expected through July 18th. Tropical storm Elsa will make landfall on the west coast of Florida and the Panhandle area and then move across Georgia and the Carolinas in the coming days.

Looking back… July 4th 1995, an Overton County man is struck and killed by lightning while working on the roof of his barn. July 4th 1941, an incredible 8 inches of rain falls on Byrdstown and Dale Hollow Lake in one day which is the all-time record for that area. July 5th 1968, the temperature in Crossville drops to 50 degrees with upper 40s in parts of the county setting a record for the date.
