While on patrol Wednesday on Jim Garrett Road, a Cumberland County deputy reportedly saw a motorcycle operated by 27-year-old Joshua Nathaniel Curtis of Monterey traveling at a rapid rate. A pursuit started attaining speeds of 85 miles an hour into Putnam County and turning onto Highway 62. The chase would eventually wind up on Highway 70 North at speeds of over 100 miles an hour. Curtis attempted to turn onto Mayland Loop and lost control resulting in a crash. During a search of Curtis, officers allegedly found pills. A check revealed he was wanted on multiple warrants in Putnam County. Curtis was apprehended for reckless driving, reckless endangerment, evading arrest and simple possession of a drug.
