Law enforcement in Cumberland County responded to a home on the 800 block of Old Highway 28 Saturday for a disturbance. The arrest report indicates they encountered 35-year-old Ricky Dewayne Young of Crossville who appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic. A deputy allegedly saw Young had a Swiss Army knife with a screwdriver opened in his right hand. He was given multiple commands to drop the weapon and did not comply. A taser was used and Young let it go. A physical confrontation took place between Young and officers. He was eventually taken into custody for resisting arrest, public intoxication and two counts of assault on a first responder.
