Comments are Off

There are several Memorial Day activities going on in Crossville today but a special display is being featured at the National Guard Armory at the corner of Sparta Highway and Highway 70 North.

Tim French has walked so far in honor and in the memory of 421 soldiers covering a total of 3,565 miles!

He started in mid-2019 with 123 walks spanning nearly 1,001 miles. In 2020, he took part in 229 walks covering 1,900 miles. So far this year, he has held 80 walks totaling 664.4 miles.

Tim is a very familiar figure in Crossville and is seen nearly every day walking on the side of the road holding high the American flag walking in remembrance of a soldier.

The Memorial Day display can be seen from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. central today only at the National Guard Armory in Crossville. Admission is free. The families of the soldiers honored will be allowed special access from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. today. (Some of the displays at the armory are featured in pictures in this story)
