TENNESSEE HIGHWAY PATROL: EXCESS SPEEDS ‘INEXCUSABLE’ OVER WEEKEND

Tennessee Highway Patrol officers said drivers’ speeds on interstates and highways over the weekend were “inexcusable.” Troopers recorded speeds of over 100 miles an hour on the interstate in Sullivan and Washington counties. Those drivers were eventually pulled over and charged.

The highway patrol asked a simple question in a tweet regarding the issue:

“If you hit a deer or have a blowout at these speeds, what’s gonna happen to you, your vehicle, your passengers, or other motorists?”

This comes as the highway patrol is about to take part in an aggressive patrol of Interstate 40 in the state looking for reckless driving and excessive speeding. Citations and/or arrests will be made in this upcoming campaign for motorists driving carelessly or traveling well above the posted limit.
