A Loudon County Grand Jury indicted 34-year-old Ashley Shaffer and 32-year-old Cody Shaffer of Greenback on six counts of aggravated child abuse and six counts of aggravated child neglect involving two children.

These charges are Class A & B felonies and carry a sentence range of 15 to 60 years and 8 to 30 years that, if convicted, can be ordered to run either concurrently or consecutively.

Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Detective Marty Branam investigated this case along with the Department of Children’s Services and the 9th District Child Advocacy Center performed forensic interviews.

Assistant District Attorneys Bob Edwards and Alyson Kennedy will be prosecuting this case for the State of Tennessee.
