The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department wasted no time in bringing back 33-year-old John Michael Poss. The fugitive that was on the TBI 10 Most Wanted list was arrested last night in Warren County by numerous law enforcement agencies including U.S. Marshals, two sheriff’s departments and the McMinnville Police Department.

Very soon after he was taken into custody, Poss was being transported by a Cumberland County deputy to Crossville and was processed into the jail around 10 p.m. last night. His bond was initially set at a half million dollars and he is scheduled to be arraigned in criminal court March 15, 2021.

Sheriff Casey Cox says Poss was wanted in connection to the fatal shooting of 30-year-old Austin Shane Lewis at a home on Neverfail Road in September 2020.

105.7 News obtained the indictment a grand jury handed down regarding Poss on February 22, 2021. The document names nearly 50 witnesses that could be called to testify including officers with the TBI, sheriff’s department and the medical examiner’s office.
