Wayne County, Tennessee authorities says two boys, ages 4 and 7, were rescued from the frigid waters of a pond yesterday afternoon after falling through the ice.

The 7-year-old managed to get out of the water.

The 4-year-old was under the water for about five minutes. The boy’s grandmother and siblings were able to get the youngest child out of the water. His father performed CPR until paramedics arrived. He was reportedly stabilized by the time a helicopter arrived to rush him to Vanderbilt Medical Center.
