A traffic stop in Oliver Springs resulted in the arrest of 52-year-old David Pope on several offenses. Law enforcement says Pope had multiple illegal drugs as well as 30 cellphones. They learned Pope allegedly coordinated “throw-overs” at the Morgan County Correctional Complex to get contraband to inmates. A search of Pope’s home reportedly found 30 guns and two stolen motorcycles. He is being held on a $190,000 secure bond and is facing violation of parole charge and several other charges.
