Charles Sutton, age 89, of Crossville, passed away January 22, 2021. He was born September 3, 1931 in Monterey, the son of John L. and Beulah R Cook Sutton. He was a graduate of Monterey High School where he will remembered as a star athlete. He was retired after 34 years with the City of Crossville Water Treatment Plant and then went on to work 10 plus years with Crab Orchard Water District. He had his own tile company that he operated on the side for 25 years. One might say that he was a hardworking man and in his spare time he worked alongside Butch Burgess at the Crossville Boy’s Club. He and his wife Margie were members of Pine Eden Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of nearly 71 years: Margie Sutton; son: Charlie Sutton (Deana) of Crossville; daughters: Jan Sutton and Lynn Wilson, both of Crossville; grandchildren: Chris Almonrode, Joe Wilson, Jimmy Barnwell, Amanda Wilson, John Sutton, Cara Kirschstein, Chad lack and Kate Hilden; great-grandchildren: Ashley Barnwell, Cade Patterson, Braden Patterson, Sam Almonrode, Ayva Gaynor, Edwin Stovall, Olivia Stovall, Aydan Sutton, Rylan Sutton, Kohen Kirschstein, Kip Kirschstein, Noah Kate Kirschstein, Hannah Kirschstein, John Henry Hilden, Emmalynn Hilden, and James Hilden; and great-great-grandchild: Jeri Lynn Hill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: James Sutton, Talmadge Sutton, Freddy Sutton, Carl Sutton and Joe Sutton. Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 27, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Hood Funeral Home in Crossville. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. prior to the service at Hood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crossville City Cemetery.
