Gary VanNostran, age 67, of Harriman, passed away January 14, 2021 at Roane Medical Center. Gary served his country while being in the Army, Navy and National Guards. He loved serving his country and also loved his family dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents: Johnny VanNorstran & Lucy Bunch; mother & father-in-law: Anna Mae & Clayton Francis who he called “Mom & Dad”; sisters: Gail Hall, Betty Jeffers and Dee Greer; and son-in-law: Scott Scarborough. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 47 years: Nina VanNorstran; children: Tracy Kennedy, Tina Scarborough and Jerome Graham; grandchildren: Kristen (Marcus) Hamby, Scotty Kennedy, Dalton Austin, Dylan Scarborough, Allison Scarborough, Lakota Graham, Kristin Scarborough, Tyer (Hannah) Scarborough, and Emily (Cory) Freytag; great-grandchildren: Roman Alexander Hamby and Kyler & John Sawyer Scarborough; brother: Jerry (Sue) VanNorstran; special uncle: Sam Bunch; brothers-in-law: Wade (Kathy) Francis, Jabo Francis, Clayton (Mary Beth) Francis and Ray Francis and Bill Hall; sisters-in-law: Carolyn (Eddie) Walker, Ida Murray, and Mary Bell and Ricky Matheson; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
