A five vehicle chain reaction crash on I-40 in eastern Putnam County yesterday sent a Cumberland Countian to the hospital. Trooper Willie Allison says a 2008 Nissan Altima driven by 25-year-old Katelyn Phillips of Jamestown, Tennessee, a 2003 Nissan Altima operated by 25-year-old Kaden Buttram of Robbins, Tennessee, a 2012 Toyota Highlander driven by Kristel Hassler of Crossville, a tractor-trailer operated by Danny Willis of Kingston and a 2005 Dodge Dakota driven by Juan Ramos of Elmont, New York were all in the accident while heading east at the 295 mile marker. Hassler was the only one hurt and was taken to Cookeville Regional Medical Center for treatment. Phillips was charged with driving without a license. The crash took place when Phillips slowed down for heavy traffic and was rear ended by Buttram resulting in the other drivers colliding with them.
