The Roane County Board of Education met last night. Here are highlights:
Parents will make the decision for in-person or remote learning for the entire second semester by January 7, 2021. Instructions will come soon from each school on how to make that choice.
Only students currently in good standing (per principal criteria) will be allowed to be a remote learner. “Good student” status will be determined by grades, attendance, and participation.
Beginning next semester, students in grades 9-12 will continue with four days in-person learning. In-person students in grades K-8 will return to five days of in-school instruction. Interim teachers will be hired to teach remote learners in grades K-8. Additional details will be shared with remote learners.
