A Cumberland County deputy had to take evasive action yesterday afternoon after a vehicle came straight at him on the 2500 block of Dogwood Road. A pursuit started with the suspect, 36-year-old Cortney Rae Maynor of Grandview, reaching speeds in excess of 95 miles per hour. The chase went onto Alloway Road then Possum Trot Road where a UPS driver had to leave the roadway to avoid being hit by Maynor. The pursuit entered Rhea County and ended off of Neck Road where Maynor and a passenger, James Moulder, ran on foot. Maynor was captured and charged with DUI, felony evading arrest, reckless driving, driving on a revoked license and four counts of reckless endangerment. Moulder was not found after the incident and is wanted by authorities.
