A Cumberland County first-degree murder suspect made his first court appearance today (Thursday, October 8, 2020). Thomas Mack Arnold, Sr., age 38, stands accused of the fatal shooting of 63-year-old Billy Ray Jones at a home on Christian Road back on September 27. Arnold fled the state after the incident and was caught in South Georgia. He was extradited back to Crossville this past Saturday. In court this morning, the judge appointed Arnold a public defender, kept his bond at $2 million and set his next court date for November 19, 2020.
