The following is from today’s Tennessee Department of Health COVID-19 report:

TENNESSEE – 16,651 active cases (down 156 cases from yesterday) in Tennessee out of 197,432 total cases (up 1,293 cases since yesterday)

  • 180,781 recovered (up 1,449 from yesterday)
  • 2,501 died (up 47 from yesterday)
  • 846 had to be hospitalized (up 29 since yesterday)
  • 2,894,875 tested (up 18,153 since yesterday)

(Deaths in counties are added to the recovered then that total is subtracted from the total cases to get an accurate number of remaining active cases)

The following counties in the coverage area report the following as of today (Thursday, October 1, 2020). INFORMATION IN BOLD INDICATES RISES IN NUMBERS FROM PREVIOUS DAY:

ANDERSON – 121 active remaining cases (up 10 case from yesterday) out of 1,243 total cases (up 19 cases from yesterday), 13 fatalities, 25,740 negative tests

BLEDSOE – 20 active remaining cases (down 1 case from yesterday) out of 866 total cases (up 2 cases from yesterday), 4 fatalities, 7,689 negative tests

CUMBERLAND – 84 active remaining cases (up 2 cases from yesterday) out of 1,234 total cases (up 11 cases from yesterday), 19 fatalities, 22,621 negative tests

FENTRESS – 162 remaining active cases (down 5 cases from yesterday) out of 593 total cases (up 5 cases from yesterday), 4 fatalities, 4,042 negative tests

KNOX – 758 remaining active cases (down 41 cases from yesterday) out of 9,737 total cases (up 56 cases from yesterday), 80 fatalities, 131,073 negative tests

LOUDON – 130 remaining active cases (up 2 cases from yesterday) out of 1,239 total cases (up 13 cases from yesterday), 7 fatalities, 13,344 negative tests

MCMINN – 120 remaining active cases (down 6 cases from yesterday) out of 1,179 total cases (up 3 cases from yesterday), 26 fatalities, 16,919 negative tests

MEIGS – 13 remaining active cases (same as yesterday) out of 232 total cases (same as yesterday), 3 fatalities, 3,102 negative tests

MORGAN – 23 remaining active cases (down 1 case from yesterday) out of 327 total cases (up 2 cases from yesterday), 4 fatalities, 8,215 negative tests

OVERTON – 114 remaining active cases (down 3 cases from yesterday) out of 791 total cases (up 9 cases from yesterday), 6 fatalities, 7,261 negative tests

PICKETT – 35 active cases (down 3 cases from yesterday) out of 130 total cases (down 1 case from yesterday), 2 fatalities, 997 negative tests

PUTNAM – 378 remaining active cases (down 1 case from yesterday) out of 3,419 total cases (up 36 cases from yesterday), 47 fatalities, 29,812 negative tests

RHEA – 97 remaining active cases (up 2 cases from yesterday) out of 870 total case (up 7 cases from yesterday), 15 fatalities, 10,693 negative tests

ROANE – 90 active case (down 5 cases from yesterday) out of 926 total cases (up 9 cases from yesterday), 6 fatalities, 17,589 negative tests

WHITE – 87 remaining active case (down 4 cases from yesterday) out of 864 total cases (up 8 cases from yesterday), 10 fatalities, 9,900 negative tests

April 28, 2020 – 70, 1 fatality reported, elderly female from Crab Orchard

April 29-May 3, 2020 – 70 up to 80 cases

May 4-31, 2020 – 84 up to 116 cases

June 1-30, 2020 – 116 up to 168 cases (second fatality reported with elderly female from Fairfield Glade on June 4 and third fatality reported June 17 with elderly male in Fairfield Glade)

July 1-31, 2020 – 173 up to 365 cases (fatalities reported on the 2nd, 14, and 17, 2020)

August 1-31, 2020 – 365 up to 826 cases (fatalities reported on the 13th and 24th)

September 1-30, 2020 – 831 up to 1,223 cases (10th – 19th fatalities this month)

October 1, 2020 – 1,234 cases

The Tennessee Department of Health says if a total number drops it is because a case was re-classified as another illness instead of COVID-19.

April 1- May 3, 2020 – 2 up to 7 cases

May 4-31, 2020 – 7 up to 16 cases

June 1-30, 2020 – 16 up to 46 cases

July 1-31, 2020 – 46 to 330 cases (1st fatality reported July 25 – 79-year-old U.S. Navy veteran Jimmy Dial)

August 1-31, 2020 – 330 to 651 cases

September 1-30, 2020 – 659 to 917 cases (3 deaths reported this month)

October 1, 2020 – 926 cases
