Morris Ray Chadwick, age 81, of Dayton, Tennessee, passed away September 18, 2020. He was born in Dayton on April 28, 1939 the son of the late Carl Ray Chadwick and Goldie Jane (Brady) Chadwick. Morris was raised in Dayton and then moved to Battle Creek, Michigan where he lived and worked for the Heffly Plumbing Company. In 1978 he returned to Dayton where he was employed with Tencate and retired in 2007. As a young man Morris served his country with the US Army and loved to work with his hands, especially on motorcycles and cars. He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Jackie (Wood) Chadwick; children: Tim (Cyndie) Mikolajczyk of Battle Creek, Michigan, Cindy Harvey of Battle Creek, Michigan, Richard Jones of Dayton, Tennessee, Lori (Brian) Wilson of Battle Creek, Michigan, Scott (Debora) Jones of Sales Creek, Tennessee and John (Kristen) Jones of Dayton, Tennessee. He is also survived by his brother: Gene (Clara) Chadwick of Dayton, Tennessee; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton. A graveside funeral service with military honors conducted by the U.S. Army will be held Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
