A head-on vehicle crash in western Cumberland County on Highway 70 near the White County line last night resulted in a fatality. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a GMC Sierra driven by 20-year-old Darius Parks of Sparta crossed the center line and struck an oncoming 2016 Chevy Silverado operated by 23-year-old Jason Scholl, also of Sparta. The impact caused the Chevy to roll over and it caught on fire. Scholl lost his life in the crash and Parks was flown by Lifeforce to a trauma center for treatment of injuries.
