All Cumberland County Schools classrooms and buses have seating charts. When a student is reported as COVID 19-positive, those charts are reviewed. Pursuant to Tennessee Department of Health guidelines, the names and contact information of students determined to have been in close contact with the positive student are provided to that agency.

The Tennessee Department of Health is in charge of contact tracing and determines the individuals who are notified. Parents must notify individual schools that their student has been instructed by the Health Department to quarantine. Cumberland County Schools continues to follow all Tennessee Department of Health guidelines in the interest of student and staff health and safety.

This information will be posted on the school systems website at www.ccschools.k12tn.net and updated weekly.

Cumberland County Schools defines “close contact”, consistent with Tennessee Department of Health guidelines: Being within 6 feet of a sick person with COVID-19 for about 10 minutes, or longer. Comparatively, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) defines close contact as less than 6 feet of a sick person with COVID-19 for at least 15 minutes.
