A suspects standoff with authorities in Putnam County yesterday ended with his arrest. Officers say 30-year-old Johnny Joe Threet was released from jail earlier in the day on bond for a domestic charge and allegedly arrived at a home on a stolen ATV. Threet was inside the dwelling reportedly armed with a rifle and authorities were called. During the confrontation with officers, White Plains Academy was placed under lockdown and Algood police requested assistance from the sheriff’s department. Threet later threw the firearm out the doorway of the residence and surrendered. He was transported to jail charged with reckless endangerment, aggravated burglary, theft, and possession of a firearm to commit a felony.
