The following is from today’s Tennessee Department of Health COVID-19 report:

TENNESSEE – 38,882 (DOWN 1,050 cases from yesterday) active cases in Tennessee out of 135,778 total cases (up 1,034 cases since yesterday)

  • 96,896 recovered (up 2,084 since yesterday)
  • 1,426 died (up 39 from yesterday)
  • 5,981 had to be hospitalized (up 100 since yesterday)
  • 1,891,875 tested (up 23,114 since yesterday)

(Deaths in counties are added to the recovered then that total is subtracted from the total cases to get an accurate number of remaining active cases)

The following counties in the coverage area report the following as of today (Tuesday, August 18, 2020). INFORMATION IN BOLD INDICATES RISES IN NUMBERS FROM PREVIOUS DAY:

ANDERSON – 241 active remaining cases (down 1 case from yesterday) out of 778 total cases (up 6 cases from yesterday), 6 fatalities, 17,007 negative tests

BLEDSOE – 91 active remaining cases (down 1 case from yesterday) of 752 total cases (up 1 case from yesterday), 2 fatalities, 5,147 negative tests

CUMBERLAND – 248 active remaining cases (up 2 cases from yesterday) out of 598 total cases (up 6 cases from yesterday), 14,251 negative tests, 7 deaths

FENTRESS – 59 remaining active cases (down 2 cases from yesterday) out of 127 total cases (up 3 cases from yesterday), 2,413 negative tests

KNOX – 1,824 remaining active cases (down 56 cases from yesterday) out of 5,349 total cases (up 52 cases from yesterday), 43 fatalities, 85,476 negative tests

LOUDON – 241 remaining active cases (down 4 case from yesterday) out of 819 total cases (up 4 cases from yesterday), 3 fatalities, 8,298 negative tests

MCMINN – 147 remaining active cases (down 14 cases from yesterday) out of 627 total cases (up 10 cases from yesterday), 20 fatalities, 10,064 negative tests

MEIGS – 29 remaining active cases (same as yesterday) out of 121 total cases (same as yesterday), 1 fatality, 1,927 negative tests

MORGAN –  67 remaining active cases (up 1 case from yesterday) out of 148 total cases (up 3 cases from yesterday), 1 death, 5,328 negative tests

OVERTON – 155 remaining active cases (up 4 cases from yesterday) out of 288 total cases (up 8 cases from yesterday), 1 fatality, 4,398 negative tests

PICKETT – 18 active cases (up 1 case from yesterday) out of 39 total (up 1 case from yesterday), 719 negative tests, 1 fatality

PUTNAM – 512 remaining active cases (down 11 cases from yesterday) out of 1,959 total cases (same as yesterday), 21 fatalities, 19,754 negative tests

RHEA – 110 remaining active case (down 4 cases from yesterday) out of 589 total case (up 6 cases from yesterday), 2 deaths, 6,596 negative tests

ROANE – 219 active case (down 12 cases from yesterday) out of 545 total cases (up 3 cases from yesterday), 2 fatalities, 11,770 negative tests

WHITE – 158 remaining active case (down 1 case from yesterday) out of 349 total cases (up 4 cases from yesterday), 6 deaths, 5,314 negative tests
