Oak Ridge authorities released the name of a murder victim this morning (Saturday, August 8, 2020) from an incident last Thursday. Oak Ridge Police SWAT executed a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of East Fairview Road. They found the gruesome remains of 36-year-old Jennifer Gail Paxton and took 52-year-old Sean Finnegan and 22-year-old Rebecca Dishman into custody.
The warrant states Finnegan and Dishman told Paxton she could stay in the home with them back in December 2019.
After Paxton moved in, officers say Finnegan and Dishman allegedly held her against her will with restraints, attacked her with a baseball bat, tortured, raped, deprived her of food and medical care, strangled her to death and cut the victim’s body up so it could go into a stand-up freezer. The couple reportedly used cleaning products later to remove evidence from the home and the victim’s body. The arrest warrant states Finnegan also removed the body from the freezer and hid it under a bed while he attempted to clean evidence from the freezer.
Finnegan and Dishman each face charges including first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.
Court officials say Sean Finnegan faced charges of aggravated rape and especially aggravated kidnapping in Blount County just three years ago.
