The following is from today’s Tennessee Department of Health COVID-19 report:

TENNESSEE – 38,792 (up 244 cases from yesterday) active cases in Tennessee out of 116,350 total cases (up 2,252 cases since yesterday)

  • 77,558 recovered (up 2,008 since yesterday)
  • 1,186 died (up 42 from yesterday)
  • 5,109 had to be hospitalized (up 108 since yesterday)
  • 1,633,642 tested (up 23,038 since yesterday)

(Deaths in counties are added to the recovered then that total is subtracted from the total cases to get an accurate number of remaining active cases)

The following counties in the coverage area report the following as of today (Thursday, August 6, 2020). Information in BOLD indicates rises in numbers:

ANDERSON – 255 active remaining cases (down 2 cases from yesterday) out of 651 total cases (up 14 cases from yesterday), 6 fatalities, 14,621 negative tests

BLEDSOE – 45 active remaining cases (up 11 case from yesterday) of 686 total cases (up 12 cases from yesterday), 1 fatality, 4,571 negative tests

CUMBERLAND – 130 active remaining cases (down 4 cases from yesterday) out of 398 total cases (up 1 case from yesterday), 12,264 negative tests, 6 deaths

FENTRESS – 37 remaining active cases (up 2 cases from yesterday) out of 79 total cases (up 3 cases from yesterday), 2,077 negative tests

KNOX – 1,843 remaining active cases (up 2 cases from yesterday) out of 4,298 total cases (up 112 cases from yesterday), 37 fatalities, 73,407 negative tests

LOUDON – 293 remaining active cases (up 6 cases from yesterday) out of 705 total cases (up 19 cases from yesterday), 3 fatalities, 7,117 negative tests

MCMINN – 132 remaining active cases (up 7 cases from yesterday) out of 509 total cases (up 11 cases from yesterday), 20 fatalities, 8,472 negative tests

MEIGS – 38 remaining active cases (down 6 cases from yesterday) out of 99 total cases (same as yesterday), 1,720 negative tests

MORGAN –  45 remaining active cases (up 1 case from yesterday) out of 98 total cases (up 4 cases from yesterday), 1 death, 4,839 negative tests

OVERTON – 56 remaining active cases (up 13 cases from yesterday) out of 155 total cases (up 14 cases from yesterday), 1 fatality, 3,818 negative tests

PICKETT – 16 active cases (up 1 case from yesterday) out of 30 total (up 3 cases from yesterday), 650 negative tests, 1 fatality

PUTNAM – 436 remaining active cases (up 1 case from yesterday) out of 1,677 total cases (up 31 cases from yesterday), 16 fatalities, 17,153 negative tests

RHEA – 121 remaining active case (down 1 case from yesterday) out of 517 total case (up 3 cases from yesterday), 1 fatality, 5,547 negative tests

ROANE – 229 active case (up 16 cases from yesterday) out of 423 total cases (up 25 cases from yesterday), 2 fatalities, 10,179 negative tests

WHITE – 110 remaining active case (up 6 cases from yesterday) out of 246 total cases (up 14 cases from yesterday), 5 deaths, 4,512 negative tests

May 4-31, 2020 – 84 up to 116 cases

June 1-30, 2020 – 116 up to 168 cases (second fatality reported with elderly female from Fairfield Glade on June 4 and third fatality reported June 17 with elderly male in Fairfield Glade)

July 1-31, 2020 – 173 up to 365 cases (fatalities reported on July 2, 14, and 17, 2020)

August 1, 2020 – 374 cases

August 2, 2020 – 375 cases

April 1- May 3, 2020 – 2 up to 7 cases

May 4-31, 2020 – 8 up to 16 cases

June 1-30, 2020 – 16 up to 44 cases

July 1, 2020 – 46 cases to 330 cases (1st fatality reported July 25 – 79-year-old U.S. Navy veteran Jimmy Dial)

August 1, 2020 – 347 cases

August 2, 2020 – 356 cases

August 3, 2020 – 364 cases (2nd fatality reported, male in his 80’s from Kingston)

August 4, 2020 – 392 cases (passes Cumberland County this day on total cases)

August 5, 2020 – 398 cases

August 6, 2020 – 423 cases
