The following is from today’s Tennessee Department of Health COVID-19 report:

TENNESSEE – 39,182 (DOWN 576 cases from yesterday) active cases in Tennessee out of 112,441 total cases (up 1,805 cases since yesterday)

  • 73,259 recovered (up 2,381 since yesterday)
  • 1,117 died (up 25 from yesterday)
  • 4,900 had to be hospitalized (up 92 since yesterday)
  • 1,591,310 tested (up 18,088 since yesterday)

(Deaths in counties are added to the recovered then that total is subtracted from the total cases to get an accurate number of remaining active cases)

The following counties in the coverage area report the following as of today (Tuesday, August 4, 2020). Information in BOLD indicates rises in numbers:

ANDERSON – 275 active remaining cases (up 8 cases from yesterday) out of 630 total cases (up 23 cases from yesterday), 7 fatalities, 14,161 negative tests

BLEDSOE – 35 active remaining cases (up 1 cases from yesterday) of 674 total cases (up 2 cases from yesterday), 1 fatality, 4,493 negative tests

CUMBERLAND – 131 active remaining cases (down 4 cases from yesterday) out of 385 total cases (up 6 cases from yesterday), 11,941 negative tests, 6 deaths

FENTRESS – 35 remaining active cases (same as yesterday) out of 76 total cases (up 2 cases from yesterday), 2,039 negative tests

KNOX – 1,874 remaining active cases (down 36 cases from yesterday) out of 4,108 total cases (up 76 cases from yesterday), 37 fatalities, 71,080 negative tests

LOUDON – 291 remaining active cases (up 19 cases from yesterday) out of 682 total cases (up 29 cases from yesterday), 3 fatalities, 6,845 negative tests

MCMINN – 134 remaining active cases (down 11 cases from yesterday) out of 493 total cases (up 4 cases from yesterday), 20 fatalities, 8,232 negative tests

MEIGS – 47 remaining active cases (down 3 cases from yesterday) out of 99 total cases (up 1 case from yesterday), 1,679 negative tests

MORGAN –  41 remaining active cases (up 7 cases from yesterday) out of 91 total cases (up 9 cases from yesterday), 1 death, 4,748 negative tests

OVERTON – 42 remaining active cases (up 3 cases from yesterday) out of 139 total cases (up 5 cases from yesterday), 1 fatality, 3,673 negative tests

PICKETT – 14 active cases (up 2 cases from yesterday) out of 25 total (up 3 cases from yesterday), 635 negative tests, 1 fatality

PUTNAM – 414 remaining active cases (up 22 cases from yesterday) out of 1,601 total cases (up 57 cases from yesterday), 13 fatalities, 16,732 negative tests

RHEA – 138 remaining active case (same as yesterday) out of 511 total case (up 9 cases from yesterday), 1 fatality, 5,356 negative tests

ROANE – 220 active case (up 14 cases from yesterday) out of 392 total cases (up 28 cases from yesterday), 2 fatalities, 9,826 negative tests

WHITE – 83 remaining active case (up 4 case from yesterday) out of 205 total cases (up 11 cases from yesterday), 3 deaths, 4,375 negative tests

April 28, 2020 – 70, 1 fatality reported, elderly female from Crab Orchard

April 29-May 3, 2020 – 70 up to 80 cases

May 4-31, 2020 – 84 up to 116 cases

June 1-30, 2020 – 116 up to 168 cases (second fatality reported with elderly female from Fairfield Glade on June 4 and third fatality reported June 17 with elderly male in Fairfield Glade)

July 1-31, 2020 – 173 up to 365 cases (fatalities reported on July 2, 14, and 17, 2020)

August 1, 2020 – 374 cases

August 2, 2020 – 375 cases

August 3, 2020 – 379 cases

August 4, 2020 – 385 cases

The Tennessee Department of Health says if a total number drops it is because a case was re-classified as another illness instead of COVID-19.

March 21-31, 2020 – 1 up to 2 cases

April 1- May 3, 2020 – 2 up to 7 cases

May 4-31, 2020 – 8 up to 16 cases

June 1-30, 2020 – 16 up to 44 cases

July 1, 2020 – 46 cases to 330 cases (1st fatality reported July 25 – 79-year-old U.S. Navy veteran Jimmy Dial)

August 1, 2020 – 347 cases

August 2, 2020 – 356 cases

August 3, 2020 – 364 cases (2nd fatality reported, male in his 80’s from Kingston)

August 4, 2020 – 392 cases (passes Cumberland County this day on total cases)
