The following is from today’s Tennessee Department of Health COVID-19 report:

TENNESSEE – 41,156 (up 623 cases from yesterday) active cases in Tennessee out of 109,627 total cases (up 1,443 cases since yesterday)

  • 68,471 recovered (up 820 since yesterday)
  • 1,073 died (up 6 from yesterday)
  • 4,756 had to be hospitalized (up 32 since yesterday)
  • 1,561,021 tested (up 19,406 since yesterday)

(Deaths in counties are added to the recovered then that total is subtracted from the total cases to get an accurate number of remaining active cases)

The following counties in the coverage area report the following as of today (Sunday, August 2, 2020). Information in BOLD indicates rises in numbers:

ANDERSON – 289 active remaining cases (up 9 cases from yesterday) out of 599 total cases (up 16 cases from yesterday), 5 fatalities, 13,779 negative tests

BLEDSOE – 32 active remaining cases (up 7 cases from yesterday) of 668 total cases (up 7 cases from yesterday), 1 fatality, 4,481 negative tests

CUMBERLAND – 135 active remaining cases (down 2 cases from yesterday) out of 375 total cases (up 1 case from yesterday), 11,664 negative tests, 6 deaths

FENTRESS – 38 remaining active cases (up 1 case from yesterday) out of 74 total cases (up 1 case from yesterday), 1,984 negative tests

KNOX – 1,945 remaining active cases (up 39 cases from yesterday) out of 3,926 total cases (up 78 cases from yesterday), 34 fatalities, 69,513 negative tests

LOUDON – 281 remaining active cases (down 1 case from yesterday) out of 649 total cases (up 6 cases from yesterday), 3 fatalities, 6,663 negative tests

MCMINN – 143 remaining active cases (up 4 cases from yesterday) out of 479 total cases (up 7 cases from yesterday), 20 fatalities, 8,107 negative tests

MEIGS – 51 remaining active cases (down 1 case from yesterday) out of 96 total cases (same as yesterday), 1,658 negative tests

MORGAN –  34 remaining active cases (up 3 cases from yesterday) out of 79 total cases (up 3 cases from yesterday), 1 death, 4,660 negative tests

OVERTON – 42 remaining active cases (same as yesterday) out of 134 total cases (same as yesterday), 1 fatality, 3,608 negative tests

PICKETT – 12 active cases (same as yesterday) out of 22 total (same as yesterday), 626 negative tests, 1 fatality

PUTNAM – 418 remaining active cases (down 1 case from yesterday) out of 1,547 total cases (up 4 cases from yesterday), 13 fatalities, 16,350 negative tests

RHEA – 141 remaining active case (up 6 cases from yesterday) out of 497 total case (up 6 cases from yesterday), 1 fatality, 5,303 negative tests

ROANE – 212 active case (up 3 cases from yesterday) out of 356 total cases (up 9 cases from yesterday), 1 fatality, 9,454 negative tests

WHITE – 78 remaining active case (up 3 cases from yesterday) out of 191 total cases (up 3 cases from yesterday), 3 deaths, 4,276 negative tests

April 28, 2020 – 70, 1 fatality reported, elderly female from Crab Orchard

April 29-May 3, 2020 – 70 up to 80 cases

May 4-31, 2020 – 84 up to 116 cases

June 1-30, 2020 – 116 up to 168 cases (second fatality reported with elderly female from Fairfield Glade on June 4 and third fatality reported June 17 with elderly male in Fairfield Glade)

July 1-31, 2020 – 173 up to 365 cases (fatalities reported on July 2, 14, and 17, 2020)

August 1, 2020 – 374 cases

August 2, 2020 – 375 cases

March 21-31, 2020 – 1 up to 2 cases

April 1- May 3, 2020 – 2 up to 7 cases

May 4-31, 2020 – 8 up to 16 cases

June 1-30, 2020 – 16 up to 44 cases

July 1, 2020 – 46 cases to 330 cases (1st fatality reported July 25 – 79-year-old U.S. Navy veteran Jimmy Dial)

August 1, 2020 – 347 cases

August 2, 2020 – 356 cases
