Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong says a Knoxville man was killed in a fatal car crash last night.

Aaron M. Christopher, age 18, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle, 17-year-old Gabriel A. Sisson of Knoxville, was flown by Lifestar to U.T. Medical Center. He was last listed in stable condition.

The accident happened on Old Walland Highway near Melrose Station Road. Christopher was traveling northwest in a 2002 Ford Explorer. As he went over a small hill that curved left, Christopher lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle left the roadway on the right side. Christopher overcorrected and the vehicle slid across the road, leaving the roadway on the left side. The vehicle struck a tree with the left side of the vehicle causing the vehicle to overturn and come to a rest on its top. Christopher was partially ejected and Sisson was completely ejected through the windshield. Officers say neither Christopher nor Sisson were wearing seatbelts at the time of impact.
