Here is the arresting officers accounts of the incident per the arrest report:
“While in route to the Webb Avenue location, he was advised by a caller at the scene people in her driveway had guns and they ran over someone with their vehicle. Upon arrival I made contact with two women, one was on the ground in the driveway on her back and appeared to be in pain. Medics checked her and advised me the victim’s injuries were bad enough she needed to be flown to a trauma center. Medics then loaded the female into an ambulance and transported her to a landing zone. Another female at the scene told me a blue Dodge Nitro pulled into her driveway with thee male occupants and one female and started yelling over speeding. Two males reportedly got out of the car and pointed firearms at two subjects and a dog. The argument continued and the witness said two of the males in the vehicle got back into the car and drove off, running over the victim in the process. Other deputies located the car on Smith Mountain Road and pilled over Jeffries. One deputy located two shotguns in the rear of the car and Jeffries admitted to being at the residence on Webb Lane and starting the argument. Jeffries was then placed into custody for aggravated assault. An officer took witness statements from three individuals. This did occur in Cumberland County, Tennessee.” End of report
