Cumberland County High School Lady Jets Head Basketball Coach Radhika Miller has accepted a head coaching position at Windermere Preparatory School in Windermere Florida just west of Orlando.
Cumberland County High School officials say they are sad to see Coach Miller leave but they wish her the very best in her future endeavor.
Coach Miller spoke with 105.7 News this morning by phone from Florida.
“This was not an easy decision. There was much prayer put into this and it was a family decision prior to me accepting the new job,” said Coach Miller.
“The Lady Jets were here at Windermere for a tournament in the 2015-2016 season. We returned the following season for another tournament. So I am familiar with the school. They reached out to me recently about the job offer.”
Coach Miller is looking forward to building a championship team at Windermere Preparatory School. She will be the head coach of the middle and high school team.
Coach Miller will be back in Crossville tomorrow night (Tuesday, June 30, 2020) for the Class of 2020 graduation ceremony.
“My roots will always be in Cumberland County and in Clarkrange. Everyone there is family to me. I greatly appreciate the time I had with the Lady Jets and at Cumberland County High School.”
Coach Miller was at the helm of the Lady Jets basketball program for nine seasons. In that time, the teams she coached won 6 district titles and made 5 sub-state appearances. She leaves Cumberland County High School with just shy of 200 wins (197) and over a dozen holiday tournament championships.
