Crossville police and Cumberland County deputies engaged in a high-speed pursuit of a stolen vehicle last night around 9 p.m. on Highway 70 North. The suspects crossed into Putnam County and approached Monterey where police officers deployed spike strips to slow the stolen vehicle down as it entered Monterey city limits. The vehicle continued to Holly Street and Stratton Avenue where the suspects then attempted to flee on foot but did not make it far. Along with officers from the Crossville Police Department, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department and Monterey Police, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and Putnam Country deputies also assisted in the chase and capture of the three suspects. A full arrest report, including the names of the three arrested, will be released at a later time.
