A two vehicle accident in Cumberland County late yesterday afternoon sent two to area hospitals. Troopers say a 1999 Chevy 1500 pickup driven by 38-year-old Jessie Michael Stephens of Jamestown was traveling at an excessive speed south on Highway 127 North near Old Elmore Road when he swerved into the opposite lane and hit an oncoming 2003 Ford Taurus operated by 53-year-old Wade Boyd Bolin of Crossville head-on. Stephens was ejected out of the truck into the roadway while Bolin’s vehicle overturned and came to rest in a ditch. Lifestar landed at the scene to transport Stephens to U.T. Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Bolin was taken by ambulance to Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Troopers say charges are pending against Stephens and Bolin was charged with driving on a revoked license.
