Deputies in Cumberland County were dispatched to a cemetery off of Deck Road Tuesday night to a male asleep in a vehicle. Officers found the subject, 42-year-old James Edward Carter, behind the wheel and woke him up. A check revealed the vehicle was reported stolen in the county. Carter reportedly told deputies he did not know who the vehicle belonged to or how he got to the cemetery. Carter was charged with theft and served two outstanding warrants for failure to appear in court.
