Cumberland County deputies and medics are on the scene (11:30 a.m. central) of a vehicle accident at the 315 mile marker of I-40. Initial reports indicate a vehicle with a New York tag crashed and when authorities arrived, one in the vehicle got out and ran towards the 317 mile marker. The suspect was caught a short time later by deputies. Officers also noticed two bullet holes in the side of the vehicle involved in the accident. Officers secured the scene prior to medics arriving. Deputies later learned the vehicle was shot at in New York. No injuries were initially reported. This is a breaking news story and more information will be released by the Tennessee Highway Patrol at a later time.
