One person was killed and four others sustained injuries today after a tree fell on a small bus carrying City of Sevierville employees. The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Brooke Sampson and was the wife of a city employee, Michael Sampson, who was in the van. She was a fourth-grade teacher at Sevierville Intermediate School and worked part-time in the public works department. The tree tore the roof off the bus as it was on Wears Valley Road at Heaven Lane. Sevierville city employees Bob Moncrief, Nathan Raulston, Joseph Dodgen and Eldon Denney were all injured and transported to the hospital.
