Long time Upper Cumberland Federal Credit Union volunteer, director and former Chairman of the Board Zdenka Austin passed away January 10, 2020. She was a resident of the Pleasant Hill community. Zdenka served the credit union from the early 1970’s until 2019. She loved the employees of the Carter Ink/Dennison/Avery Dennison company where she worked over 30 years in payroll and human resource. She was a strong advocate for employee benefits as she wanted all people to be financially healthy.
When the Avery Dennison plant closed in 2000, Zdenka continued to help the employees with retirement issues up to 2019 as people still wanted her advice. There are not enough words to describe her kind heart and her love for Avery Dennison employees and for the members of Upper Cumberland Federal Credit Union.
She Is survived by her husband of 47 years: Robert “Bob” Austin; children: David (Diane) Austin, Mike (Wilma, deceased) Austin, Allen (Darlene) Austin, Danny (Mary) Austin, Debbie (Rick) Nail; daughter: Ashlara Austin; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters: Famey Lanora Lockwood and Rose (George) Pietrogallo; brother: John E. Lockwood; special work family from Avery-Dennison (Carter Ink); and numerous nieces and nephews.
