The Tennessee Titans defeated the number one seeded Baltimore Ravens at Baltimore last night 28 to 12 to advance to next weekend’s AFC championship game. This will be the Titans first appearance in the AFC title game since the 2002-2003 season.
The Titans have only been to the AFC championship game twice in franchise history while playing in Tennessee (twice while in Houston as the Oilers). On January 23, 2000 the Titans upset Jacksonville to go to Super Bowl XXXIV, where the team lost to the St. Louis Rams. On January 19, 2003 the Titans lost to the Oakland Raiders in the AFC Championship game.
Which team the Titans play is still to be determined. Tennessee will travel to the winner of the Houston Texans/Kansas City Chiefs game. The Texans and Chiefs will play today (Sunday, January 12, 2020).
