A Crossville man lost his life in a single vehicle accident late this afternoon on Interstate 40. Troopers say a 2007 Nissan Xterra driven by 78-year-old Jerry Scoggins was traveling west around the 334 mile marker when his vehicle left the road, hit cable barriers and rolled over. The Nissan came to rest upright. Scoggins passed away from injuries sustained. Scoggins was restrained at the time of the crash. This is the second fatality accident in Cumberland County since the first of the year.
