HUNDREDS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS COME TO PAY RESPECTS TO LOCAL OFFICER WHO PASSED AWAY

Hundreds of law enforcement officers turned out yesterday afternoon to pay respects to a local law enforcement officer who passed away. Officer Jerry Singleton died of natural causes during his shift New Year’s Eve. Singleton was a 30 year veteran serving with the Fairfield Glade Police Department. He previously served with the Rockwood, Harriman and Kingston Police Departments as well as the Roane County Sheriff’s Department. The service was held yesterday in the gym at Roane State Community College in Harriman. Graveside services will be held today (Sunday, January 5, 2020) at 2 p.m. eastern in Davis Cemetery in Coalfield.
