POLICE: COOKEVILLE SHOOTING VICTIM GIVES FALSE INFORMATION, SUSPECT ARRESTED

UPDATE – The Cookeville Police Department now says a woman who was shot early this morning gave them incorrect information regarding the incident. The victim initially told them an unknown individual shot her while she was walking along Jere Whitson Road. Officers later learned the shooting actually took place at a North Dixie Avenue apartment during a domestic situation. The woman was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment. Officers arrested 44-year-old Erick Archibald for aggravated assault in connection with the shooting. He was taken to the Putnam County jail.
