A vehicle accident yesterday claimed the life of a Crossville man. Trooper Justin Mote says a 2001 Ford Escape operated by 48-year-old Carlos Eldridge of Sparta crossed the center lane on Lantana Road and hit an oncoming 1996 Jeep Cherokee driven by 56-year-old Kenneth Rasor of Crossville head on. Both drivers were hurt in the crash. A passenger in the Jeep, 85-year-old Thomas Beadle, died from injuries sustained. Troopers say charges are pending the outcome of the accident investigation. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says Beadle makes the 18th traffic fatality in Cumberland County so far this year.
