A trial has been delayed for a Cumberland County murder suspect. Officers say 48-year-old Billy Joe Wannyn of Spencer is accused of the death of 71-year-old Albin Buechel. Wannyn faces an additional charge of aggravated robbery. Buechel’s body was discovered at his home on Seagraves Road in Pleasant Hill in early 2018  after reportedly sustaining several stab wounds. Wannyn appeared in court back in September represented by one attorney and faced a trial date of tomorrow (December 10, 2019). In court today, court officials say that trial date was put off since Wannyn now has a different attorney representing him. Wannyn is scheduled to return to court January 3, 2020. No new trial date was set today in court.

STORY NOTE – The trial date not moving forward tomorrow also had to do with a scheduling conflct of ones that would have been involved in the trial. The judge had no choice but to delay it.
