Authorities say a 2-year-old boy was struck and killed Saturday after he ran into a road in Grainger County. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a vehicle was traveling west on Indian Ridge Road when it struck the child. Officers say Brentley Keelen’s mother, Samantha Burgess, was cleaning out her car when she turned her back and the child ran into the road. He was struck and killed by a Chevy Tahoe. No citations have been issued and no charges have been filed so far as a result of the incident.
