One from Roane County and another from Hawkins County are facing several charges after allegedly stealing hundreds of dollars of meat from a Food City location in Anderson County. The store manager told officers he caught 38-year-old Richard J. Freer of Kingston and 27-year-old Brittany N. Cureton of Bulls Gap putting meat into a backpack. Freer allegedly shoved the manager after he was confronted but both were held until police arrived. A search of the vehicle the two were in reportedly turned up meats from locations like Kroger, Ingles and Food City.
