The Tennessee Highway Safety Office will be working with Tennessee Highway Patrol, Cumberland County Sheriff Department and the Crossville Police Department in efforts to decrease crashes along Highway 127 and Highway 70 North next week. In a release sent out today, those efforts will take place from November 21 through November 23, 2019. Officers will be out in force looking for distracted motorists, aggressive drivers as well as driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In the last two months, 91 accidents took place in Cumberland County resulting in at least 28 injuries and a few fatalities.

Just this afternoon (Thursday, November 14, 2019), a Cumberland County school bus (bus 46-05 from Pleasant Hill) was clipped in the rear by a vehicle on Sparta Highway. The driver of the vehicle kept going and did not stop. No injuries were reported on the school bus from the minor accident.
