PLANNED POWER OUTAGE FOR PARTS OF ROANE AND MORGAN CO. NOV. 9, 2019

A TVA and HUB power outage has been scheduled for 11:30 p.m. tomorrow night (Saturday, November 9th, 2019) until 7 a.m. Sunday morning. The outage is necessary to improve reliability at the Harriman 161kV Substation. The outage will impact approximately 3,700 customers in Roane and Morgan Counties, including the following communities: Oakdale, Boswell Chapel, Margrave, Bazel Road, Swan Pond, West Hills, Pine Hills, Emory Heights, Riggs Chapel, Emory Gap, Ruritan Road, Cardiff Valley, and Midtown (west of the hospital). When 105.7 News asked why the power outage would take place in near freezing temperatures, TVA said this planned outage has been rescheduled a couple of times and the work has to be done now to keep the substation operating effectively.
