CUMBERLAND CO. BOE HOLDS OFF ON CONTRACT EXTENSION FOR DIRECTOR OF SCHOOLS

The Cumberland County Board of Education discussed a three-year contract renewal for current Director of Schools Janet Graham last night. The board of education voted to extend that contract last year until June 30, 2020. However, the board took a different direction last night when they chose to delay a decision on the three-year renewal. Instead it was sent back to the contract committee that will meet in November. That decision came after a motion to approve the three-year renewal failed and another motion for a one-year renewal was withdrawn. Graham was hired for the position for a contract of three years back in 2016. The current proposed contract will take Graham’s annual salary to nearly $110,000.
