BREAKING NEWS – MISSING ELDERLY CUMBERLAND COUNTY MAN FOUND SAFE

83-year-old Billy Hendrixson has been found safe!

Late this afternoon, Hendrixson walks off from a home on Roy McCoy Road off of Genesis Road. Minutes later a search starts and law enforcement is called to the scene along with the Cumberland County Rescue Squad.

At 6:45 p.m., reverse 911 calls went out to residents in the area advising them of the search for Mr. Hendrixson. The search party is not only battling darkness but a threat of rain approaching the area.

At 8 p.m. a helicopter is on way equipped with a heat signature device to aid in the search

Around 8:25 p.m. – Searchers hear a voice that could be Mr. Hendrixson. An ambulance has been called to see if Mr. Hendrixson is in need of medical assistance. Rescue squad worked their way to Hendrixson. He is reportedly scratched up from briars but is responsive.

PREVIOUS STORY – The Cumberland County Rescue Squad has been called to the area of Roy McCoy Road off of Genesis Road to search for a missing elderly man. Crews are looking for 83-year-old Billy Hendrixson who walked off from his residence. The search area is near the 13 mile marker of Genesis Road. He was last seen wearing a yellow plaid shirt and jeans. Tracking dogs were called to the area to assist in the search. If you have seen Mr. Hendrixson, call 911 and let them know his location as exact as possible.
