The owners of Crossville Dragway released a statement to 105.7 News. It is as follows in its entirety:

“On behalf of Crossville Dragway we would like to take a minute and say thank you to all the racers, spectators and fans that have supported us for the last two years on this adventure. We have made the decision to go ahead and wrap up the 2019 season on a good note with this past weekend’s race. The past two years we have learned a lot we made good calls and bad ones but we learned from each one. We strived to provide the best race track possible every time we were open. Here is the difficult news we will not be moving forward with a lease in 2020. We do not know what the owners will do with the facility. We feel it is the best decision for us moving forward. We made friends along the way we will never forget. I could start a list but it would be a mile long and I would forget a few I am sure. Good luck to everyone some final words from us go support your local tracks tell them you appreciate what they do when you feel like fussing about something just turn and go back the other way. Pay what they charge with a smile don’t fuss at the gate and say it’s too much support them. Buffalo Valley, Knoxville Dragway, Brainerd Motorsports Park all these tracks are great local tracks and have great owners but at the end of the day it’s a business it has to make money. There is countless hours spent away from their family they give up way more then you realize. Think about that before you just think they are getting “rich” cause I promise you they are not. It’s a full time 7 day a week job and I look up to all them and have the utmost respect for them for doing it. Again thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the ones that supported us and helped along the way!!”
